Warriors take the win

Hereifyouneed Tournament: 1st September
Tournament Sec Bex writes this round up:
This weekend we stepped onto court for the first tournament of the season entering two teams into the “HereIfYouNeed” charity tournament organised by Swans Netball Club, raising money for Papyrus (a mental health charity)

It was a great way to blow away the cobwebs before the start of the seasons and we witnessed some exceptional play from both teams.

Wandsworth Wizards and Wandsworth Warriors fought tirelessly throughout the day, with a highlight being a very close inter-club game between the two teams. Wizards put up an exceptional fight, demonstrating some flawless netball but Warriors took the win and completed an unbeaten afternoon walking away with the first silverware (actually a cold bottle of Prosecco) for the trophy cabinet.

Wizards captain Lauren Reid awarded Evie Jones (a newbie to the club ?) Captains Player of The Day commenting:
“Centre all day and clearly the only one we needed! She worked tirelessly, dominating centre court and making every interception look easy!”
Warriors captain Ellie Kehoe awarded Anneka Finch Captain Player of The Day commenting:
“Anneka was fierce in her attacking and defending throughout the tournament. Consistently turning over the ball, and feeding brilliant in the the D for the shooters to convert”

It was a fab day had by all, a well organised tournament, quality netball and most excitingly a Gin Bar to help cool down at the end of play.
A special mention to Anna Jay who kindly provided THREE fantastic prizes for the raffle which were greatly received.
