The sun was out and looking very promising for an early start on a Saturday but this turned to be very deceiving. On court it was cold with a chilling wind, quite a surprise to our hands and fingers with a few fumbles and replays across the court. At least we didn't struck hail like the D's.
We lead the first quarter 13/6 but we were not in our best form. Lifeline were a tall team, which meant we had to change our strategy to short, in front leads avoiding all overheads. We had some strong play with great shooting and a number of intercepts mid-court, unfortunately good play was disrupted by some frustrating decisions and silly mistakes on our behalf.
Defence had to pick up on good shooting from the opposition, implementing strong zoning tactics to avoid long drop shots into the circle.
By 4th quarter we had woken and were in the game with fewer errors and strong attacking positioning, to be completed with superb shooting. A great win 39/16 and well done Brigitte receiving POM on her first game recovering from a netball injury.
