WNC E -v- WNC D - 11-13

We knew this is going to be tough game, with most of us haven't played together before and the bad weather, the first quarter was proving difficult. We were rushing with our passes which lead to some silly mistakes. The D's adapted to the weather quickly and secured a 5-0 lead.

However we kept our heads together, after a quick regroup and team talk. In the second quarter we started to settle into the game, driving onto the ball, doing short passes, we begin to carry the ball well down the court. The excellent defensive play from Erin and Sally and great shooting from Gayle and Becki meant we pulled the score back to 7-7.

By the third quarter, we continue to put pressure on the D's, trying to block their shooters out and timing our passes into the circle. However the D's started to pick up their game and came away with a point lead against us (10-9). We knew we still have a chance to win and continued to fight hard in the final quarter, however it wasn't quite enough to take the win, ending in a final score of 13-11.

It was a really enjoyable and competitive game, looking forward to our re-match next week.
