WNC 'E' -v- United B: 37-33

After just managing to ensure we had enough players to continue ahead with the match, despite cutting it fine with only 7 players, we were ready to take on the opponents!

The first quarter was a bit manic as everyone was settling slowly into game play, where the ball was travelling very quickly across court and we were being pulled up for numerous ‘silly’ mistakes. With a rushed first quarter, we lost 6-12 and knew we needed to pull together as a team.

During the second quarter we began to viciously fight back, and brought the score within our reach to 17-21. Despite the dizzily addition of rain towards the end of the second quarter, we worked closer as a team, picking up on the opponents consistency of successful overheads, which were impossible to intercept, entering the circle.

After finishing the third quarter with a massive overtake of 27-25, we knew we were in reaching distance of winning the game. Alice, Sally and Erin stuck to their opponents like glue with numerous interceptions, allowing Kirsty and Steph to work compatibly together ensuring Miriam could have the opportunity to shoot.

Finishing the game with a win of 37-33, an unbelievable come back, we will look ahead to work on communication on court, contact and footwork.
