WNC 'E' -v- Lifeline C 36-40

This week the Es got off to a rare good start with a full 7 all of its own, plus Erin spare to score the game despite a sore neck. Thanks Erin!

We finished the first quarter 10 - 9 up but for most of this period Lifeline were playing wuth 6 while they waited for a late coming WA. That said, Lifeline were not much more forceful with 7 but we still had it all to do as they definitely had the height advantage and had clearly played together for some time.

The second quarter ended 22 - 19, but sloppy mistakes were not as common as they can be for the Es. The timing of the passes was what seemed to be causing a problem as Lifeline continued to intercept the slower balls.

The third quarter ended 33 - 27 so going into the last quarter both teams were fired up as the Es were ready to snatch it. The gap was closed thanks to some great shooting but despite a good all round performance from everyone Lifeline held on and were victorious at 40 - 36.

The general feeling coming off court was that whilst it may not have been everyones best individual performance, the game flowed and we worked together to close down gaps and make space. Kerry sealed a well deserved play of the match, having keep her cool and putting in a very solid performance at WD.

Gayle and Vicki also gelled against a tough opposition and Steph and Kirsty held their own mid court.

A loss but we showed what we can do. Well done girls
