WNC 'E' -v- Lifeline B: 15-36

With the majority our team away this week we are down to 6 players, therefore we knew this was going to be a tough game. Adding to this we only had Gayle as our main shooter, who was an absolute trooper playing after a night shift. Also a shout out to Kerry, who did a great job stepping up to play GA/ GS putting some fantastic shots in.

Lifeline B got off to a strong start with their goal shooter holding her space well and accurate shooting. The first quarter ended 5-13 to lifeline.

The second quarter we started to settle into the game, saw us communicating better on court. We begin to move the ball well through the court, coupled with some great movement and passing around the circle we begin to draw the score closer. Defence was though without WD but saw Alice and Sally had some great tips and rebounds, putting pressure on their shooters, forcing them to make errors.

In the third quarter, we tried to switch it up by up-ing our defence and dropping the WA. However it had made it tough to feed into the circle, which resulted in us only scoring 1 goal in this quarter. The third quarter ended 10- 30 to lifeline.

In the final quarter, we knew we had to step it up. We started strong this quarter turning over a few of their centre passes, picking up on their mistakes. We claw back a few more goals, despite a good performance Lifeline held on and came away with a win of 36 - 15.

Sally got a very well deserved player of the match for her great sportsmanship and had a great game. Thank you to Erin and Lee, who were our star supporters of the day.

Despite the result it was an enjoyable game and we fought hard to the end! With a full strength team in the new year we are confident we can give Lifeline a tough game when we play them again.
