WNC E -v- All Stars B - 9 - 26

What can I say - I am a very proud captain of the team today, a tough game in tough conditions but we fought hard and although the final score doesn’t represent it - we gave the Allstars a good run.

A loss of one member the team just minutes of us due on court we were down to 5 players vs a Allstars team of 6. A quick rejig of positions saw Steph step up in GA of which she did amazing at. All members of the team put 110% running the opposition around the court, capitalising on mistakes (as well as unfortunately making a few ourselves). We were clearing and creating space, taking defenders away from the play and driving onto the ball. However we were not able to convert into points with Allstars taking and maintaining the lead throughout.

Third and fourth quarters and more position tweaks saw Erin in the circle with Vicky and as they settled their partnership strengthened, though real points progression was hindered by heavy, constant, cold rain and some good defence.

Great defence from everyone in the team, with only 5 players it was crucial that everyone defended hard. It was great to see our shooters taking numerous turn overs on the opposition back line. Our defender team was solid as well, Kirsty really took to GK, a position she hasn’t played all season getting some good intercepts from a very talented Allstars shooter.
All in all an amazing effort, I think everyone (except me) played outside of position for at least one quarter. That is a tough ask two mins before a game and I am really impressed with the Netball that followed. Good work & bring on the rematch!
