Wandsworth E vs. Wandsworth D - 31-43 (by Hannah)

Es vs Ds, always a tense match playing fellow club members and we wanted to win!
The first quarter was very close, Daisy carefully fed the ball into the circle and Izzy was converting every shot. Erin and Lucy worked very hard applying pressure and getting rebounds where possible. Only 2 down at the end of the 1st Q

Not sure what happened in the second quarter. Hundreds of unforced rookie errors, trying to force the ball up the court and bad passes. D's were much stronger and the shooters were converting every E team mistake. Erin went off injured and Harriet stepped up to GK, tough task against the excellent shooting from Mel and Gayle.

Half time team talk from Daisy and our heads lifted. Excellent play from Kirsty and Daisy around the circle and interceptions mid court from Catherine (now with non-slippy shoes!), the attack was much stronger and we ended up wining the 3rd Q

Determined to win the last Q too, E's upped their defence. Harriet and Lucy in the circle ensured the D's had the lowest conversions of the whole game in the 4th Q. Kirsty, Catherine and Daisy worked the ball up the court to Izzy and Hannah who were working hard against a determined D defence, forcing shots to be taken from far out. Ending the 4th Q with a draw.
