Wandsworth E vs. Lifeline B - 42-39 (by Catherine)

We had the most important game of the season so far for Wandsworth Es. Lifeline B were the top of our league and to maintain a chance of getting promoted, we knew we needed to win. Unfortunately we were taking on the challenge with 6 players.... Hannah gave
us a positive talking to before the game and we went out with our heads held high! We had a fantastic start to the game and we finished the first quarter 13 - 5 to us!

We came off, amazed that Lifeline hadn't managed to take advantage of their extra player. We knew Lifeline would come back fighting. They switched in some great defensive players, but nothing could halt the unstoppable force of Helen (GS) and Hannah (GA). We
finished the second quarter 24 - 15 to us.

Half time and Helen offered some words of wisdom..."we look like a team!". In the third quarter Bec (C) and Kirsty (WA) continued to work hard and feed excellent balls into the circle. We finished the quarter 31 - 26.

Final quarter: squeaky bum time. A win was within reach. Erin, as she had done all game, got some great turnover in the circle. With 5 minutes to go, there was a disagreement in the score. We used this as a chance to catch our breath and then went on to defend
our lead for the last few minutes. WE WON the game 42 - 39!!

Having been a member of Wandsworth for 5 years, this was hands down my favourite game ever. Well done team and well done to the ever modest Hannah who won POM. Massive thanks to Gwen for scoring and coaching us throughout the game.
