Wandsworth E vs. Crickets - 26-21 (by Steph)

We knew this would be a tough match as Crickets were top of the MET league. We got off to a pretty even start but made few silly errors in mid court and wasted some good opportunites with sloppy feeds into the circle. After the first quarter we were 6-5 up but knew that we could open up the difference with just a few tweaks to our game.

Going into the second quarter we aimed to eliminate our own mistakes. There were some great turnovers in defence with Erin and Lucy doing an amazing job and Hanna and Izzy converting our opportunities. We managed to pull ahead ending half time with a score of 16-8.

We knew that we had to keep up the focus and not let the gap close. Our aim was to slow the pace of the game an use defence to reset. Our shooters put some amazing shots up and overall we settled into a slightly slower pace ending the third quarter 23-16.

The final quarter saw a lot more contest with Crickets fired up to close the gap. We managed to play safe and came away with a 26-21 win. Well done girls!
