Wandsworth E vs. Croham: 50-32 (by Leanne)

Having comfortably beaten Croham by 12 earlier in the season the E’s went into Saturday’s game hoping for another win in the bag with an eye on gaining a big goal difference after a really positive Tuesday night training with the As and Cs. We started super strongly, gaining loads of turnovers down their shooting end which were ruthlessly converted by Ellie and Selina from all over the shop. The first quarter was one of our best of the season so far, with some slick netball we finished 17-6 up.

Croham went from looking fed up to fired up in the second quarter and really stepped up their game whilst we were a bit more relaxed due to our strong start. All of a sudden they were picking off intercepts and not missing any shots. It took us a while to get settled in and at half time the score was 25-15 to Wandsworth.

Captain Daisy was not going to let us relax in a game we knew we could smash, so a few tactical changes in midcourt saw us bring on some fresh legs and look to stretch out our lead once more. We knew we could continue to win ball back thanks to amazing tips from everyone on court (DEFENCE!) so we just needed to be calmer and cleaner working the ball down to our on fire shooters. The third quarter finished 38-27 to Wandsworth.

With one quarter to go, we wanted to get to at least 50 goals to continue our #goalrush of the last couple of weeks and we did it!
