A rocky start to say the least....Google maps lied.....whyteleafe (WL) was further away than we all anticipated. We were forced to take the court with our opponents yellow bibs and 6 players, thankfully within seconds the rest of the team arrived. Although we won the quarter, it's fair to say they got us on the hop.
17-17
Slightly more composed this quarter and now warmed up, we had a better show. We looked the better team in parts, however we lost the ball though silly mistakes in footwork, passing and distance. WL capitalised on this and took the quarter by one.
27-29
A better third quarter saw us take the lead again, things seemed to be going our way. We tightened up on the basics and played some lovely attacking netball. We capitalised on WL mistakes, our defence was excellent from all the players, slowing down our opponents attack and making some lovely interceptions.
36-41.
We had our foot to the floor this quarter, we showed true Wandsworth grit for the last 15 mins. Following Kiran's advice, we slowed our game down and took the panic element away. Some lovely attacking netball from Jules and Georgie feeding the circle, allowed our shooting duo to convert . Amazing interceptions from Josie and Claire seen us to turn over play and get ahead. By far the best quarter of the match, Wandsworth finished 5 ahead and took our third win of the season.
