Wandsworth B vs. HS B: 54 - 27 (by Nicki)

Q1 14-5
With just the seven of us today we were feeling pumped. We knew that the shooters were going to have a tough time with the strong wind, but were definitely not expecting the rain.

We had a super starting quarter going out all guns blazing, unsettling HS B and with interceptions happening all down the court. Ellie got wiped out by her opponent causing her to have a nasty fall onto her shoulder, but heroically came back on court after a goal to maintain our 7-player team!

Q2 30-11
It now started raining despite the “sunny spells” bbc weather had promised us. The court was getting more slippery but we played our own game playing the ball down the court, using defence as back up and Anna J & Ten were consistently making some amazing shots.

Q3 40-22
The rain was heavier now and the ball was slipping out of everyones hands, with the wet court making it more difficult to change direction. We had switched both our defence and centre court positions around and lost our heads at the beginning of the quarter enabling HS B to win the quarter 11-10.

Q4 54-27
Last quarter and we were back to our original positions focusing on getting back on track & widening the goal gap. The rain was now an actual monsoon with the court rapidly resembling the shallow end of a swimming pool. We kept our passing short & sharp and battled through it. Anna W and Catt’s defence was impeccable and tireless resulting in them getting the well-deserved POM and Player’s Player.
