With some of our players away for the weekend we had to recruit Izzy from the Ds to play for our team as we were short of shooters. Thank you Izzy for playing for us, you had a great match.

We started the match with a new line up as Becci was back from injury. It was a slow start to the game which finished 6 all after the first quarter.

We mixed the positions around a bit and this meant our defence was very strong and saw us grab in some great intercepts down the court from Lisa and in the defensive circle from both Fiona and Erin. These turnovers meant that we were leading at half time.

We went into the third quarter with the same line up and got into our stride again and kept turning over the balls down the court. Becky W fed some lovely passes into the circle which Imo and Izzy were able to convert. Imo fought for every rebound which is why she got players player as well as her great conversions and movement around the circle. The end of the third quarter saw us maintaining our 3 goal lead (27-24).

The final quarter came and Becky changed the line up to get some fresh legs on court. We moved the ball down the court but Demonettes were fighting hard and unfortunately managed to get some turnovers which meant that we finished the match at 36 all (although we scored a second after the whistle which was frustrating!).

Everyone put up a good fight and fought well for the ball, unfortunately we couldn’t defeat them this time but we’re looking forward to meeting them again later in the season.
