Q1 12-12
We had such a strong training session which definately translated into the start of the game. Great energy all the way down the court, Max working tirelessly to be available for the supporting back pass which worked really well resetting play. Becky and Anneka working really well together feeding into Mel and Livvi who were great at positioning themselves infront of their player so limiting the risky overhead balls. Defence pressure from Erin and Dani pushed their attack to make mistakes which were picked off by Wandsworth! We ended this quarter 12-12
Q2
By the start if Q2 United went out with all guns blazing, and it took us a few minutes to settle into play. Their defence were blocking our attack after the C pass but with support from Max and Erin we were able to bring the ball down the court. After a few questionable umpire calls we got into a rhythm and great defence from all the attacking players put pressure onto their team. We managed to get some amazing goals but unfortunately it wasn't enough and we ended 10 down.
Q3
A little change to the team replacing Mel with Imo brought a new dynamic and energy to the play. Imo did some great holds and always got rebounds. We struggled a bit getting to goal as their defence was ramped up and once they made a turnover we struggled to get the ball back as their attack was fine tuned and difficult to break. We ended that Q 13 down
Q4
After a lull in energy we took to court with determination. Maddie came on as WA and Max was off. We did some really great play, Livvi working really hard against a tough GD. Becky bringing the ball down and supporting at WD brilliantly. Unfortunately our heads dropped a bit and made a few errors which we were unable to convert back. The final score was 52-35.
