The team were pretty pumped for this game following a great training session with Serena Guthrie on Thursday. We had a full and dedicated warm up which set us up physically and mentally for a good game.

We went out strong and you could see we were hungry for the win. The play felt good on court and we were playing as a team. Mel held well against a tall defence and forced some crucial errors from their side. With some really valuable circle defence from Anneka and Max and Lisa and Fi superbly picking up the rebounds we pulled away slightly to end the first quarter 8 - 12 to Wandsworth

The second quarter saw a swap of shooters from Mel to Imo and WA swap from Marelise to Maddie. Fresh legs gave the us a bit of drive over the opposition. Livvi and Imo were shooting well in the circle despite a very armsy and long GK! We increased our lead to 6 finishing the second quarter 13 - 19 to Wandsworth

At half time we decided to stick positions as it was working well. Captain Livvi gave a lifting team chat and we were ready to hustle some more. In the third quarter there were a lot of mistakes from both teams but we just had the edge and were able to capitalise on their mistakes to win the goal. It was all about the little wins and protecting our possession. Creeping ahead the third quarter finished 19 - 26 to Wandsworth

By far, this was the toughest quarter. The ball was going back and fourth down the court which meant neither team were getting it into the circle. As WD, Max was constantly driving and offering which always gave attack a back up option. Determined to take the win, we had a lot of fight to pick up those lose balls and keep the possession. A very close match but so pleased we took the win at 23 - 30.

Very proud! Such great teamwork, communication and hustle! Shout out to Max who got players player and oppositions player - she had a blinder at WD!
