With a couple of new recruits for the game (thanks guys!!) we went out eager to really push ourselves and try out some new combinations on this grey and grizzly day. Things seemed to fall into place particularly in the centre court with brilliant Bex, ace Anna and marvelous Max moving the ball effortlessly down the court. We ended the first quarter up 15-9.
Second quarter we kept the same positions and really settled into our game. Some great feeding in and speedy movement around the circle by lightening Livvi helped us hold onto our lead of 6 to finish 26-20.
Half time talk with Emma was extremely helpful and we were all pumped for the second half. Making a few changes for some fresh legs on court we went out fighting. So many intercepts I lost count up the defensive end by Jumping jack Josie and epic Erin! Marvelous Maddie and awesome Andy running circles around their defence helped push our lead up to 12 with the score 38-26.
The last quarter and a final push in the ongoing drizzle. The game admittedly started to get messy with many unforced errors from both sides. We held our heads up and pushed on to finish the game 48-34.
Shout out to our Player of the match Maxine for her flying intercepts and speedy play and players player to Josie for reading the play like a pro and pulling off countless intercepts!
