The first quarter was pretty even, we went goal for goal in the sunshine and there were some great bits of play, especially as we had borrowed two players (thanks Bridget and Emma!) and there were a few new combinations on court to get used to.
In the second quarter we managed to turn over a lot of ball but struggled to convert it. The defence did a really good job of picking off ball outside of the circle as there was pretty much zero rebounds to take with their shooters not missing anything. We went into half time down by 5 but positive we could turn it around.
The third quarter became our Achilles heel again and let Roundwood score off of a lot of our centres. The shooters switched around to give Amy a rest and it took a while to set into the new combinations.
Emma picked up a few interceptions around the circle but we couldn’t seem to convert. We finished the 3rd quarter down by 14.
The last quarter was our best, we drew it and there were some really good bits of play in all the thirds but we left far too much hard work to bring it back after the third quarter!
