With Storm Brian making weather conditions difficult, and the fact that United had won all their games to date, we knew this was going to be a tough match. However, we stepped onto court striving for a win.

The first quarter was a little slow for us as it took us a while to get used to the constantly changing weather which caused us to make quite a few errors. We finished first quarter 10-1 down.

Second quarter we stepped onto court after a few wise words from captain Gayle and really started to fight back. Amy and Rachel made some great interceptions in defence and were putting loads of pressure on United shooters and Gayle and Becky were sinking shot after shot. We finished second quarter 16-14 down.

Third quarter United switched on some fresh legs which made a real difference. They started to pull away again but some nice centre court play from Syan and Fran meant that the pressure was still on and we were still in with a shot of pulling it back. Third quarter we finished 30-21 down.

Final quarter came and United kicked up another gear with their shooters getting it in every time from the very edge of the D. We fought hard but United pulled away. Lots of positives to take away and bits to improve on but a great team effort in very tough conditions!
