WNC E vs Redhill D 42 - 32 (by Erin)

This was very much a game of two halves for us against a young Redhill team. We started out quite sluggish and quickly slipped a few goals down. Whilst we made converting from our centre passes quite difficult, Redhill seemed to be moving the ball down court with ease. We finished the first quarter 12-12, and after the second had let this slip to 18-21. This was due to our own sloppy play (some loose passes, footwork errors, not keeping our distance etc) rather than the opposition being particularly strong, so we knew we could get back in the game if we tightened things up.

After a good team talk from Kim, we were a different team in the third quarter, and turned the score round to 29-25. Kirsty was always available for the centre passes and Erin coming out for the second ball allowed Helen plenty of space in the circle, and her shooting was once again top draw (second POM in a row!). Our defence was also much stronger with Mei intercepting a number of their centre passes, and Harriet and Nat disrupting play around the circle and putting pressure on their (very good) shooter. By the end of the game, we had stretched our lead to 42-32.

It was a good win, but we will have to ensure we come out playing our best netball right from the start when we come up against tougher opposition.
