WNC E vs Roundwood E - 29 - 17 (by Alice)

An early start for the Es this week against Roundwood. A young team who we had previously beaten by 11 goals. During the first quarter the E team dominated. The play was tight in defence with some great interceptions from Kirsty, Amy and Nat, which meant that we could capitalise this advantage over Roundwood in the attacking third. With some brilliant shooting from Helen and Steph we finished the first quarter with 11 goals to Roundwood’s 2.

If the first quarter was fast paced and collected the second quarter was more uncertain. After both teams changing some player positions after the 1st quarter, we took time to settle in. Roundwood were holding their own in the attacking circle, whilst their defence upped the anti in the centre and goal this. Despite our attack held their own with some excellent passes into the circle from Daisy and Kim. It meant that we ended the quarter up on 14-7.

After a few position swaps again the team were fired up, not wanting to open up any opportunities for the Roundwood. The third quarter was strong with the centre court players and defence making steady play down the court. Amy and Nat made easy work of turning over the balls. We ended the quarter 25-13.

We entered the fourth quarter knowing that we were dominating but also knowing that we needed to close the match. After some final changes, we played strong netball in the final quarter. Again, making steady interceptions of the ball and with strong passes down the court, we ended the match on 29 - 17. An excellent match. Well done ladies and well done Kim for being POM!
