WNC E vs Whytleafe D - 82-17 (by Harriet S)

Wandsworth Es set out for our final game of the met league feeling confident, having played Whyteleaf away we knew they were not a strong side and with our team back from a rather defence heavy side the week before we knew it should result in a win.

We set off slightly shaky as we always seem to do with some slightly sloppy play but very quickly settled in to the game and started scoring! Centre passes were taken down the court with ease often getting it to Steph or Hannah within 2 passes.

We got to half time with the score at 43-7 after which they actually had their strongest quarter scoring 5.. In spite of the score Nat, Emma and Erin still had to work pretty hard in defence with their strongest player being a pretty nippy GA.

With 1 quarter left we set ourselves a target to get 81, which would have been the club's goal record for the season. And we went out all guns blazing; Hannah and Steph's shooting was nothing short of formidable and Kim and Kirsty took it down the court with such speed-we were turning almost every one of their centre passes.

We finished the game on 82.... As did the Bs! So we had to settle for joint record holders. Massive thank you to our 3 supporters, the most I think we've ever had and in particular Kirsty's fiancé Guy who scored for us.

Great end to the met league securing us a very convincing promotion.
