WNC E vs Wellcome - 36 - 22 (by Hannah)

It was a miserable wet and very windy day and our hopes of a new record/high score changed to just win the match and complete safe passes!

With the conditions, we made sure our passes were short, safe and very accurate. Nat and Erin got some great interceptions and capitalised on their forced overheads as Wellcome struggled to get the ball into their circle. In the first quarter we pulled away with a convincing 13-5 lead

The second quarter however, Wellcome adapted their play to the wet conditions and their shooter gained in confidence and appeared unstoppable, Anna, Mei and Kirsty put pressure in the centre and around our circle but the quarter still ended in a 17-13 score.

A slight change in defence, a more motivated E team and Wellcome became frustrated as we pulled away again in the 3rd quarter. They contacted at every opportunity and Helen did well to hold her space and keep scoring against a very annoyed GD!

4th quarter saw a teeny tiny bit of sunshine to cheer us on! Feeding into our circle and shooters work within the circle all came together in the final quarter. Defence kept forcing Wellcome to shoot with just a toe in the circle and E's won a convincing 36-22 in the end
