WNC E vs Chequers D - 22-27 (by Anna C)

Armed with all of the layers we set out against a Chequers team who are likely to be one of our biggest rivals for promotion this season. We had a reasonably steady first quarter with Nat stepping into the circle to assist the shooting. Despite settling early things weren't quite clicking and they finished the quarter just ahead.

The second quarter saw Amy heading into defence with Harriet. The girls played well against a couple of strong shooters and managed to increase turn over ball and work hard for the rebounds. Despite this we remained behind at half time.

Catherine stepped into the GA slot for the second half. Whilst shooting isn't her strongest point, her movement in and around the circle enabled easier passage from the centre court to increase the number of shots Hannah could put up. Despite this lots of sloppy errors crept in and we weren't able to claw back any of their lead.

Despite a good effort in the 4th quarter we lost by 5 goals 22-27. We didn't put in a performance to our usual standard, but next time round we'll be sure to make it a win!
