WNC E vs Demonettes D - 47-32 (by Erin)

With Demonettes second to us in the table, we knew this was going to be tougher than most of the other matches we've had in this league.

Demonettes certainly came out strong at the beginning, with a really tight defence right across the court. Steph went off injured early on and we had a bit of a shuffle round, with Erin going in to shoot. We finished the first quarter 13-8 up.

Luckily Steph's injury wasn't as bad as we thought, and she was back on in the second quarter. We continued to struggle to make space in centre court, and particularly on centre passes, but Steph and Hannah's awesome shooting meant we were able to convert whenever Kim and Daisy were able to get the ball into the circle. At half time we were up 21-19.

The third quarter was so much better, and we were able to pull away. Despite facing some very physical players, Kim, Catherine and Kirsty put in a lot of hard work to work the ball around, and we began looking for the easy balls rather than forcing it into the circle. Erin and Amy worked well together in defence and were able to stop the preferred option of the overhead into the GS which had worked well on the first half. It was a really strong quarter ending 38-24.

We continued to play well in the final quarter. Kim earnt a well deserved rest and Daisy came on at centre. We continued to move the ball well, and we very tight in defence, and with the match finishing 47-32.

A well fought game with some really great moments- well done girls, still top of the table!
